Africa | School project
On 25 September 2014, the head teacher, Flora Mlaki, of the Lambo Estate Primary School in Africa and Gerd Brodde, head teacher at the Hühnerheide primary school in Dinslaken visited us.

_________________________________________________________The Lambo School is located in Tanzania, close to the town Moshi and is a partner school of the primary school attended by Anna Manteca, the daughter of Andrea Manteca and granddaughter of the company founder Gerd Gillenkirch. This connection made us aware of the school‘s situation and in 2012 we decided to financially support the school with its new „Water Project“.
The project preparations and planning started in summer 2013 to significantly improve the water supply at the Lambo School. First of all, experts were consulted for the decision-making process on whether the supply should be established by means of building a well or establishing a connection to the public water system. In the end, the latter was chosen, as there was a sufficient infrastructure in place close to the school. This solution was proven to be cheaper and also more reliable. It was agreed that the parents would provide their own labour to dig up the ditches and also carry the monthly consumption costs upon completion. We thank Ms Mlaki for her visit and gifts. We also hope that the school will continue to come up with good ideas and support to enable a better life for the children and their families.
