Complete Solution | Plant for potatoes
In November 2014 we implemented a new plant concept for processing table potatoes in Canada. A total of 26 overseas containers with plant components were loaded at our three sites, then shipped and unloaded in Canada on schedule. Our assembly team was working at the location for 3 months, in order to assemble the plant and put it into operation in due time.
The plant consists of 3 processing areas overall: Receiving and processing, sorting and automation, storage and packaging.
A total of 8 different product types or sizes can be stored or packaged. It is the first time that we have implemented such a complex plant concept during one assembly stage, as similar projects were previously developed over multiple years.
There were many difficulties during assembly due to limited space. Every centimetre was valuable for fitting the plant components into the building and it was once again proven that the detailed 3D planning of the project was very important.
The plant is operating in test mode since November 2014 and meets the high quality standards placed on us regarding functioning, performance, safety and hygiene. The plant will start operating in January 2015 with an output of more than 30 tonnes of potatoes per hour.
We thank our employees for their professional and efficient work, and our client for placing his trust in us.
